You’ll love retiring–Vegas style!
You’ll be in great company when you retire to sunny Las Vegas. Thousands move here every month with good reason. The weather is fabulous–over 300 days of sunshine and just 4 inches of rain on average every year.
The choices for retirement living and the activities available in Las Vegas are tremendously varied because retirees make up the largest group of people moving to Las Vegas.
From friendly breakfasts on the patio to a midday swim at the community pool to enjoying the entertainment and world-class restaurants at the casinos at night–you can be as busy and active as you wish. Or simply enjoy lazy days with endless sunshine.
And for housing you will find there is everything from luxurious homes with equally luxurious amenities to affordable homes and condos in more modest and down-to-earth neighborhoods. There are also many facilities for retirees who need assistance for everyday living located around the city.
“Test Drive” a retirement community before you move in
We recommend that you ‘test drive’ any community you are seriously considering by staying in a vacation rental, such as Airbnb, to see if the people who live there are ones you would enjoy knowing. Talk to the neighbors during your stay. Ask them about the pros and cons of the community.
Start your tour of age-restricted retirement communities by clicking on one of these:
Sun City MacDonald Ranch | Sun City Anthem |
Sun City Summerlin | Siena |
Sun City Aliante | Rancho Las Brisas El Paseo |
Terra Bella | Ardiente |
There are dozens of clubs and activities for residents in Sun City Summerlin and all the Sun City communities around Las Vegas have similar activities and clubs.
If an age-restricted community is not for you, consider beautiful Desert Shores which is near to Sun City Summerlin. It has lots of recreational activities, including fishing and boating, as well as lakeside homes, townhomes, and condos.
This map can help you identify the location of neighborhoods in Las Vegas and Henderson. It is about 15 miles from downtown to the edge of this map in each direction.
