When the Pueblo Village was built as a new village in Summerlin the late 1990s it was definitely ahead of its time. Back then homes across Las Vegas had green lawns in front. It was unusual to use only native plants and drought-tolerant landscaping.
Today, all new communities in Summerlin and around the Las Vegas Valley are required by law to have drought-tolerant plantings to minimize water usage. As a bonus for homeowners this type of landscape requires little maintenance. No mowers needed!
Public parks instead of individual lawns
Running through the middle of The Pueblo Village rambling all the way from Buffalo to Rampart Boulevard is the appropriately named Pueblo Village Park. There are a couple of large green lawns, but even here most of the landscaping is desert style using native plants.
Within the park are areas with grassy lawn for children’s play, basketball courts, and a long trail which is enjoyed by walkers and joggers and their dogs — usually in the cool hours of morning. Occasionally, bicyclists use this trail. The Pueblo Village Park is part of the 50+ mile long network of trails in Summerlin.
Buying a home in the Pueblo Village
Homes of varying price ranges and condos face onto the park. There are also schools and churches within Pueblo Village. Homes and condos are available by resale only.
